We are a small family owned business. As the owners of Special Effects, we ourselves have struggled throughout life with our own learning disabilities. We are not only able to sympathize with the day-to-day challenges that occur, but are truly able to understand the feelings of frustration and how easily those feelings can damage a child's self-esteem and love for learning.

Special Effects recognizes that each student is a unique person and therefore unique instruction and programs are necessary for successful cognitive and emotional growth. We engage all learners using a variety of techniques customized for the student. We use a Family Education Plan to allow for consistency between those who are involved in a student's education.

Special Effects provide services at your home, office, school or daycare and libraries. We believe that all children can learn, especially when provided with the opportunities to grow and develop at a pace and style that allows for success. Our teachers are available for family support, including the attendance of ARD meetings. We make an extra effort to introduce ourselves to the child's previous and current teachers and work with them on a consistent basis.

Special Effects serves students from Pre-K through 12th grade. We provide services to students in the General Education setting and to those who require Special Education services. We specialize in modifications and learning techniques that can benefit any learning style.
